Each year, the Honors College participates in the annual National Collegiate Honors Council (NCHC) conference, which takes place in late October or early November in different cities across the U.S. Past locations include Phoenix, New Orleans, San Antonio, Denver, Chicago, St. Louis, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, DC, and Seattle.  Approximately 2,000 people attend the conference including students, faculty, and administrators from two and four-year honors programs and colleges from around the country, and even internationally. UMaine’s Honors College typically brings twenty or so students, faculty, and staff who present papers or posters, and participate in round table sessions or master classes related to Honors education.
Look for the call for proposals from the Honors College in late January/early February for each upcoming fall conference.  Students must be in good standing (3.30 GPA and above) to participate in the proposal process and attend the conference.
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the Honors College covers the major expenses (travel, lodging, conference registration, and some meals) for student participants.  Students are responsible only for some meals and incidentals.

NCHC 2020 Proposals

Deadline: Monday, February 17, 2020 at 11:59pm

To apply to attend the NCHC conference, fill out the application form by the on-campus deadline. Students will submit proposals to be reviewed by the Honors College staff.
