The Honors College

What is SAB? 

The Honors College Student Advisory Board serves as the representative organization of the honors student body to Student Government and the Honors College faculty and staff.  Members work together to build community within the Honors College through initiatives and programs that reflect the key values of the College. Delegates from the Board are given the opportunity to provide input and feedback on the College’s curriculum and procedures, serve as ambassadors of the College at public events and meetings, and participate in the organization of the annual Maine Day Meal Packout. 

Who are we?

The members of SAB are undergraduate students enrolled in the Honors College at the University of Maine.  The Board is comprised of students with different majors, at different stages of their degree, and with varied interests.  We accept any Honors College students who are interested in making an impact on their community! 

How you can get involved:

1. Attend one of our weekly in-person meetings in Colvin 401 at 5:30pm on Thursdays. If you are interested in attending virtually, please email dominique.dispirito@miane.edu for the zoom link. These meetings are where we meet to brainstorm, discuss our week, plan events, and connect with other students.  They are a great way to learn about the work we do and the community we create while doing it!
2. Reach out to us. You can contact us through our Google form, the information provided in the Current Officers section of this page, or at our general email sab.umaine@gmail.com.  We are happy to answer any questions you have about SAB, as well as discuss your ideas! 
3. Keep an eye out for SAB events and programs.  The activities we host are a great way to get involved in the Honors College community and make connections with other students!
