Claire Raymond

Biography: Biography: Claire Raymond moved back to Maine in 2021, after teaching for many years at the University of Virginia. While at the University of Virginia, Raymond taught courses focusing on visual culture, feminist theory, and critical race theory, raised a child, and became the author of several books.

Publications:  Dr. Raymond is the author of nine books of scholarship, including The Photographic Uncanny: Photography, Homelessness, and Homesickness, and Photography and Resistance: Anticolonialist Photography inthe Americas. Publishing under the name Claire Millikin, Dr. Raymond is the author of nine books of poetry,including Elegiaca Americana and Dolls.
