Description of Publication: This project is intended to broaden the horizons of electronic dance music performance to incorporate improvisation and live composing. I am achieving this through a system that splits the music composition process in half: the human performer triggers notes rhythmically, while the computer decides the pitch of each note. In this scheme, both human and computer become collaborators in the composition process.
