ORONO, Maine — Brenna Walsh (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia), of the University of Maine cross country and track teams, has been named the 2010 Outstanding Undergraduate International Student of the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Walsh is being honored for her strong academic record, her involvement in scientific research and her dedication to the cross country and track and field teams.
Walsh, a senior chemistry major, will be recognized for her accomplishments at the College’s Faculty and Student Awards reception on Tuesday, April 13th at 4 p.m. at the Buchanan Alumni House. She will also be honored at the University of Maine Honors Convocation on May 7th at 1:30 p.m. in the Collins Center for the Arts.
Walsh was sixth at the New England Championships this season in the 3,000 meter run and seventh in the 3,000 meter run at the America East Championships. She was also a member of this season’s second place cross-country team. Walsh is a gold medal Maine Student-Athlete recipient and a member of the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
