Distinguished Graduate Amy Frappier Braves Storm For Lecture
Distinguished Graduate Lecture Series
Amy Frappier, from the class of 1999, gave a lecture on “The Natural Philosophy of Hurricanes in the Anthropocene” on Monday, February 2. Despite the storm, an engaged audience still made it out to see her speak on this all too relevant topic. Dean François Amar presented her a 1935 Stein to commemorate the occasion. Frappier graduated with Honors from the University of Maine with a degree in Geological Sciences in 1999. She earned a PHD from the University of New Hampshire in 2006 and is currently an Assistant Professor at Skidmore College in the Department of Geosciences. We are proud to have her as an Honors graduate!
The Distinguished Honors Graduate Lecture Series was established in 2002. This annual event highlights the accomplishments of a UMaine Honors graduate. The lecture serves as an opportunity for the university community to recognize the individual’s accomplishments, vision and connection with UMaine.
