Mikayla Reynolds
Mikayla Reynolds (she/her) is the Assistant Honors Advisor. She, herself, is a proud graduate of the Honors College! Mikayla is also proud to be a first-generation college student who persisted in light of coming from a low-income, non-traditional background. You belong here; you can do this!
In 2023, Mikayla graduated as Salutatorian from the University of Maine and earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with majors in Management and Marketing. Her Honors Thesis research studied organizational attractiveness, for which she received Highest Honors, a UMaine Student Symposium Undergraduate Research Award for Business, and the Best Paper Award for Track 5: Careers, Social Issues, Diversity Issues, Ethics for her work Using Signaling Theory to Explain Organizational Attractiveness from Southern Management Association in 2024.
Mikayla’s advising and coaching background spans over five years in various capacities. Alongside her role with the Honors College, she occupies a dual role with TRIO Student Support Services and has been a Lead Peer Coach with the program since 2020. Mikayla has also tutored and coached students via the Knack platform, which she helped bring to campus and is now under the Office of Student Academic Success.
Mikayla is involved across the University of Maine community. She serves as the Advisor for All Maine Women and Sophomore Eagles traditions societies, so you may see her with a tree or star sticker every now and then. She is a founding member and core organizer of Black Bear Mutual Aid Fund, a community-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization redistributing resources within the UMaine community (she just finished the annual report in June – check it out to learn more!).
