Honors College Student Leadership Council
What is the HCSLC?
The Honors College Student Leadership Council (HCSLC) is the representative student organization of the Honors College student body at The University of Maine. HCSLC connects Honors students with UMaine Student Government (UMSG) and the Honors College faculty and staff, ensuring student voices are heard in conversations about college-wide initiatives, policies, and curriculum.
HCSLC members work together to strengthen the Honors community through initiatives and programs that reflect the key values of the Honors College, while also creating space for student feedback, leadership development, and meaningful collaboration across cohorts and initiative groups.
Who are We?
HCSLC membership includes elected officers and all members of Honors initiative groups (Ambassadors, Mentors, the Maine Day Meal Packout Committee, and the Honors Cup Planning Committee). The HCSLC Executive Board (EB) includes elected officers and one representative from each initiative group, as described below.
The EB works together to represent and support the Honors student body by meeting several times per semester and preparing a summarized report of student feedback for the Honors College Dean and Associate Dean.
