Kristin Beebe

I have a passion for helping people. My background is in hotel management; I’ve managed the openings for 3 separate Marriott hotels during my 11 years in the hospitality industry. My former career transitions me well into my new position: our students have become my new guests! I am looking forward to enjoying my time at UMaine and finding all I can to help make the Honors College even better.

I grew up in Michigan, but there’s so much about Maine that I love! My husband and I moved here for one year to complete his Audiology Doctorate. We then moved to Massachusetts while I managed the opening of a 130-room Courtyard by Marriott. Our plan was to stay in Boston for several years, but the call to return to Maine was too strong to ignore. We returned to Bangor in April of 2018 and have no foreseeable plans to leave!

We have quickly grown to love the many adventuring opportunities Maine has to offer! Rowing on Pushaw Lake, white-water canoeing on the Kenduskeag, hiking the Gulf Hagas trail, and sailing the coast are a few of our favorites. We also love to cultivate our garden and tend our flock of chickens.
