I obtained a Graduate Certificate in International Relations and Negotiations from Universidad de los Andes, in Bogotá Colombia in 1994. In the early 2000s I moved to Maine and obtained a Master’s in Public Management with a concentration in NGO management from Umaine in 2004, and obtained my PhD in History at Umaine as well in 2011. My specialization is international business history, which is complemented by more than 15 years of experience in international banking and NGO management. I was a preceptor for the Honors College from 2014 to 2018, prior to accepting a position at the Maine Business School. Since then I have been the bridge between the Maine Business and the Honors College. I value Honors education tremendously, it is a fascinating opportunity to help students expand their curiosity and dig deeper into research that is valuable to their career development, and I enjoy the challenge of being part of the mentorship process of this journey. It is intellectually enriching and keeps me on my toes.
