Student Activities Board
What is SAB?
The Honors College Student Activities Board (SAB) is centered around three pillars: service, engagement, and support. For service, we run or support initiatives like an annual personal care item drive and the Maine Day Meal Packout. For engagement, we work to involve students in the Honors College, UMaine, and the broader community. For support, we create opportunities for students to connect through events like craft nights and our semesterly finals study and self-care night.
Additionally, the president of SAB serves as the Honors College Representative in UMaine Student Government (UMSG), acting as a voice for Honors students in university-wide discussions, advocating for their needs, and ensuring that their perspectives are represented in UMSG decisions.
Who Are We?
SAB is open to all UMaine students, even if they are not members of the Honors College, although much of our work is focused on supporting Honors College students. It’s a welcoming environment for those passionate about service and community-building. Our members come from a variety of majors and backgrounds, united by a commitment to making a positive impact!
