Incoming First-Year Students
All first-year students who apply to the University of Maine will be automatically considered for the Honors College. Applicants who meet the Honors criteria will be sent an invitation to join us for the upcoming fall semester.
We strongly encourage any student who does not receive an automatic invitation to submit an application using the button below.
All first-year applicants who have been invited to the Honors College must RSVP “Yes” to our invitation and pay their University of Maine confirmation deposit by May 1st to confirm their spot in the Honors College.
Transfer Students
The Honors College offers transfer students the same benefits as first-year students, including Honors leadership roles, Honors housing options, and the opportunity to create an individualized Honors project with your chosen faculty mentor.
Current University of Maine students and students transferring from another institution are encouraged to apply using the Honors College transfer application available below. If admitted, your Honors College advisor will work with you to incorporate the Honors curriculum into your class schedule.
