The University of Maine was recently accepted into the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Science Education Alliance (SEA), according to the UMaine News Blog.  Starting in the 2011-12 academic year, first-year Honors students will have the opportunity to participate in genetic research as part of this program.  Read more….

A Charles V. Stanhope ’71 Study Abroad Fellowship is available for 2011-2012! The fellowship is intended to encourage students to study abroad as a means to expand their horizons through the exposure to and understanding of different cultures.

It’s that time of year again — if you’d like to submit a proposal for next fall’s NCHC conference in Pheonix, Arizona, we will need it by no later than Monday, February 21st.

Congratulations are in order to Sophomore Shannon Folsom. She faced tough competition for the Miss Collegiate America Crown in San Antonio; but her record of academic achievement and community service enthralled the judges. Shannon was crowned Miss Collegiate America 2011 on January 8th. Read more here!
