Spring Break in DC, 2010

Right before our 2010 spring break trip, the DC area was hit by a major snowstorm– so we were a bit nervous about the weather! We were treated to at least one day of sunshine and a glimpse at the first cherry blossoms of the season. Trip highlights included: a mixer for past and present Honors students hosted at an art gallery by John Dodge ’82, and a visit to the ceremonial office at the Library of Congress with Charles Stanhope ’71. We also toured the National Archives and US Capitol Building, before ending with a trip to the International Space Station– through IMAX 3D at the Air and Space Museum! Staff and students had free time to explore the city,  including stops at the Washington Monument, National Gallery of Art, United States Botanic Garden, and National Zoo.

Thanks to Betsy and Bill Leitch for making this trip possible.
