The Honors Campus – Visiting Faculty Suite
Longtime friends of Honors, Betsy ’55 and Bill Leitch have helped transform not only Colvin Hall, but the entire UMaine Honors College into a dynamic living and learning opportunity with unique programmatic offerings that focus on enhancing the undergraduate experience at UMaine.
Betsy and Bill named the Margaret Chase Smith Visiting Faculty Suite on the fourth floor, a space that has significantly enhanced the living-learning environment of Colvin Hall and provided a remarkable opportunity for interaction between our students and visitors to UMaine. Since opening the suite 2009, the Honors College has been able to host a wide range of lecturers visiting departments all over campus. There is no fee to stay in the suite; we simply invite each guest to engage in conversation with our students– usually over a meal.
