The Honors College congratulates Rachel Binder-Hathaway on receiving the prestigious $10,000 Pearson Prize for Higher Education. The prize awards students for their outstanding public service and student leadership. The University of Maine was recently accepted into the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Science Education Alliance (SEA), according to the UMaine News Blog.  Starting in the 2011-12 academic year, first-year Honors students will have the opportunity to participate in genetic research as part of this program.  Read more….
